The college search and choice process can be both exciting and challenging.  At WFL we wholeheartedly believe that first and foremost the student-athlete must consider factors such as geographic location of the institution (i.e. regional location which means unique cultural environment as well as urban or small town setting, etc), academic offerings and opportunities, student culture on campus, affordability, and enrollment size...then, once that list is made, think about how lacrosse fits into the picture.  Obviously, the type and size of higher education institution will dictate the type of competitive lacrosse offered - NCAA DI, DII, DIII; NAIA; WDIA.  Visiting the campus and getting a sense of the student culture, sitting in on a class, touring campus including residential halls, and talking with the lacrosse coach and some players are important in helping you really get an intuitive sense that you could see yourself "fit".  This sense of fit - coupled with the ever-important affordability factor - is significant because it will mean that you are more likely to be happy on the field and off and, thus, are less likely to transfer.

Below are some good resources (with links out to websites) for student-athletes and parents/legal guardians:

Midwest Student Exchange Program - affording out-of-state costs (regional tuition reduction program by Midwestern Higher Education Compact)
